Academy Awards 2009-Slumdog Millionaire Rules

Well the results of Oscars are out for the year 2009.The most coveted awards of the film industry are finally declared. This time the Best Picture of the year Award has been bagged by Slumdog Millionaire which depicts the story of the slum area in Mumbai. Along with this the movie bags a total of eight Academy Awards which is really a big achievement for India. Slumdog Millionaire has won almost in all the categories it was nominated for. It wins Oscars in Best Cinematography, Best Sound Mixing, Best Film Editing, Best Background Music, Best Original Song, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director and the Best Motion Picture of the year 2009 award. This is a great achievement for Indian Movie Industry. Music Maestro A.R.Rehman got two Oscars for Best Original song and Best background music. This will be recognition of his great work in the field of music. So this has come as a great reward to the expectations of the Indians. In other categories, Kate Winslet has won the best actress award for her role in The Reader. The best actor award was won by veteran actor Sean Penn. The best Supporting actor was bagged by Late Heath Ledger. The award was received by his Parents and sisters. Award for the best Visual Effects was won by The Curious Case of Benzamin Button. The ceremony saw the presence of great Director Steven Spielberg.
