Now the whole world has seen what Henry has done recently with his handball. I don’t need to remind you of Maradona also. But can you guess what if Henry and Maradona were in the same match playing against each other? Well such a match will see an amazing display of handball skills. Henry will handle the ball with his hand and give pass to Gallas. Gallas will head the ball but it will not reach the net because Maradona’s Hand of God will stop it in the middle. Now it’s turn for Maradona. When he gets a cross he would have converted it into goal by his Hand of God. But, sorry, Maradona. Henry will not let you do so. So the result will be a draw. Whenever there will be any corner kick the situation will be different in the penalty area. Other players will pay more attention to their hands than their feet. Probably these two players might have played as the goal keeper in the past. So whenever some critical situation comes, they do it with their hands not knowing themselves what they have done.

France captain Thierry Henry’s hand ball which saw them to an overall lead of 2-1 over Ireland has turned the 2010 World Cup a Nightmare to the Irish people. It is really very unfortunate that FIFA could not handle such situation in this modern era. There was similar incident in the quarter final of 1986 World Cup where Maradona’s Hand of God came heavily upon the England team. Now the scene has become clear as Henry himself has admitted that he had twice handled the ball with his hand. French coach Trapatonni also says that he would rather go for the penalties to let the destiny to decide. Now in such critical situations, if a mistake is to decide the results then it is a real shame for game of football. Without doubt, there is no other big achievement for any country than to play in the World Cup Finals. But who is to blame for that? You can not blame Henry. Any body will do it at such pressure situations to see his own country through. A rematch is also not possible as Ireland is claiming for. But the referee in charge could have taken his time. But he may also commit mistakes. He is also human. Use of technology in football seems necessary now. Because, such situations are really very heart breaking.

The US open 2009 has ended, but with probably the largest number of surprises. The whole tournament was full of surprises. The victory of Kim Clijsters in the women’s singles who returned to Tennis after a two year gap is really fascinating. Kim Clijsters entered the tournament as an unseeded player and finally finishing with an amazing victory. While achieving this millstone she overcame the resistance from players like Serena Williams. Well the biggest surprise came yesterday. Federer the greatest tennis player on earth was defeated by Argentine Del Potro. In the semifinal Federer ended the run of Djokovic. Del Potro was the sixth seeded player in the Tournament. So the world number one could hardly think that he was going to lose. He was definitely going for his 16th career grand slam. But the Argentine 20 year old turned upside down all the predictions and calculations. He produced some great serves and fore hand winners to defeat Federer and to add another name to Federer’s contenders list. He defeated Federer in five sets 3-6, 7-6 (5), 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-2.He put up a terrific fight to overcome the domination of Federer. So at the end of the match he just lied down on the court. He just burst into tears. Is this the beginning of a new star? It will be interesting to see the tall figured player from Argentina in the times to come.

The thrill of Wimbledon 2009 has started. No one can forget last year’s epic semifinal between two great players of the game Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. The clash of these two players in the final gifted the fans of Tennis an unbelievable match. But this time you are surely going to miss this. Ask Federer himself. Although Federer might be happy that his biggest rival is not there but he will miss the competition that he likes. He says that he would have been happier if he would face Nadal in the final. Now in the absence of Nadal Federer may become unstoppable. He may go ahead to break the record of Pete Sampras winning the maximum number of grand slams. Federer may get obstructions from Andy Roddick, Murray and Djokovic. However there may be some younger players who may turn the tournament more exciting by their performances. So get ready for another big tournament in the Wimbledon. Federer and Dojokovic have started their campaigns with easy wins in the first round.

The starting race of Formula one season 2009 was full of Surprises. There were surprises right from word go. The first F1 race this year was neither won by Ferrari drivers Massa and Kimi Raikkonen nor by Champion of the previous year, Hamilton. The heroes in Melbourne were Jenesen Button and Barichello who finished 1-2 in for their team Brawn Mercedes. It was debut for Brawn Mercedes in Formula one. So Button and Barichello gave Brawn Mercedes the dream debut. Brawn had claimed the pole position in Melbourne. He took the lead right from the beginning. This victory has sent warnings to Formula One giants like Ferrari and Mercedes Mclaren.
There were many setbacks on the part of other drivers. Felipe Massa and Kimi Rakkonen could not finish their race. Redbull Driver Vettel and BMW Sauber’s Robert Kubica were in 3rd and 4th positions when there were only three laps to go. But then Kubica tried to overtake Vettel when the two cars got interlocked leading to disaster. Vettel was driving with three wheels for a considerable distance. This collision in the final minutes gave Lewis Hamilton an Unexpected third place. The starting race signals that this year formula one will be full of dramas.

IPL has finally found is destination in South Africa. The popular twenty-twenty league which started in India was in doubt for a long time. As the general elections in India were clashing with the IPL schedules, the tournament was likely to be postponed to next year. However the discussion between IPL and BCCI heads opened a solution and it was decided that the most hyped tournament will be held outside India. But then two options came, England and South Africa. In this battle South Africa won and got the opportunity to hold the tournament. The main factors that decided the IPL venue were the cost and the weather. IPL chief Lalit Modi found the South African Hotels cheaper. Also the cold weather of London made way for South Africa. This has come as a great relief. However IPL will miss the home crowd. Now the matches will be telecasted at 4PM and 8PM according to Indian Clock.

Man U was well ahead of the contenders like Chelsea and Liverpool. But this week the scene has completely changed. Liverpool claimed some consecutive wins. They defeated Manchester United with a huge margin. Now they also won their match against Aston Villa with a margin of 5-0.This comprehensive win of Liverpool was made possible by skipper Gerrard who scored a hat rick. Now Liverpool is on the second position in the English Premiere League with just one point behind Manchester United. However Liverpool has played one match more than Manchester United. At this stage it is difficult to predict who will have the last laugh. But one thing is sure Liverpool will keep pushing all the time. They have bounced back very strongly. It will be exciting to see whether Man U will be to withstand the storm called Liverpool or not.

Sachin Tendulkar scored another century in ODI matches. This is his 43rd century in his ODI career. The Indian batting wonder scored this tone against New Zealand in a very aggressive way. The New Zealand bowling attack had no answer to his aggression. This century helped India build a sky scrapper of runs. India gave New Zealand an impossible target of 393 runs. Tendulkar made 163.At some time it seemed that he would surpass his own best of 186 runs. But at the score of 163 he got retired hurt. His marvelous innings included 16 boundaries and 5 over-boundaries. In this way he helped India to a victory by 58 runs. This is a really classy innings from Sachin. Still there is so much cricket left in him. Now India is leading in the ODI series by 2-0.New Zealand will have be more careful from now on.
